Fishing tour at Baikal lake

Route: Irkutsk city – Bolshoe Goloustnoe village – Peschanaya bay – Maloe sea – Olhon island – Irkutsk city

In this tour your will visit the most “bite” places of the lake. Expereinced fishermen accompany us. They tell about features of fishing in this place. In any case traveling along Baikal is pleasure adventure. We will visit many beautiful places. There are excursions, walks and travels to other diffrent places in this tour.

PROGRAM

1st day:
Meeting.
Traveling to Bolshoe Goloustnoe village by auto (130 km). This is a small ancient village on Baikal shore. Visiting museum of Buryat jurt on river shore on the way. Sttoping near holy places Obo and relic poplar grove.
Accomodation in the guesthouse. Lunch.
Walking (riding is possible) to Suhoe (dry) lake. Dinner.

2d day:
Traveling along Baikal to Sennaya bay by motor boat. Fishing on the way.
Night at cordon of Pribaikalskyi National park. Morning grayling fishing (omul and grayling - from August).

3d day:
Coming back to Bolshoe Goloustnoe village.
Sauna.

4th day:
Going to Baikal to the gulfs of Maloe sea (Small sea) (distance is about 290 km, duration is about 6-7 hours).
Tazheranskaya steppe begins nearer Baikal center. Climbing on the Shebete peak near buryat village Anga. Beautiful view is opened from it top. There are petroglyphics. Lunch on the way.
Short excursion to an ancient settlement of Kuerkans and a settlement of primitive man after arriving and accomodation. Take a look at surrounding bays.
Evening fishing in the gulf (roach, pike).

5th day:
Traveling for fishing to mountain river Sarma. Fishing in pits (dace, lenok, grayling). Coming back to the base..

6th day:
Breakfast. Coming by ferry to Olhon Island.
Going by minibus to Huzhir village (35 km).
In Huzhir accommodation will be in three-four people guesthouses or at tourist’s base. Lunch. Walking to holy cape Shamanka. There are famous sandy beaches. There is local regional museum with collection of ancient household goods reflecting life and culture of islanders.
Dinner.

7th day:
Jeep-excursion to the north end of Olhon island (about 60 km). Walking in picturesque places: Sagan-Hushin (Three brothers) rock, Peschanaya bay (where GULAG camp was located); tracking to the end of island Hoboi cape.
Lunch in Uzury village.
Coming back to the base.

8th day:
Walking along islands by motor boat or motor catamaran. Grayling fishing on the way.
Evening fire. Omul on sticks.
Optional: tourist’s sauna on Baikal shore.

9th day:
Day of relaxation at Olhon beaches.
Optional: walking along island by bicycle or riding.

10th day:
Leaving the island and coming back to Irkutsk (300 km). Lunch in a roadside cafe (on your own).
If you will have to wait for the ferry on the way, you can visit Sinners’ Mountain. Take a stone with you as the legend tells that every stone left there means leaving some sin. The bigger stone the heavier sin.
