Route: Irkutsk city – flight by helicopter to Shumak mineral springs - tracking along East Sayany mountains - Nilova hermitage – Irkutsk city.

Shumak’s springs has been known to locals at all times. Many Tibetan and ancient Mongolian inscriptions evidence it. They are said about healing properties of the springs and methods of taking water according Tibetan and ancient Mongolian lama’s medicine. Modern researches have proved unique nature of springs and their originality. Hydrocarbonate and sulfate-hydrocarbonate, magnesion-calcic siliceous and radon waters are discovered there. There are about one hundred springs!
However Shumak springs are located in region difficult of access, in virgin taiga of East Sayany mountains. Transfer tourists, food and equipment by helicopter lightens the problem too much. You will see beauty and power of Sayany mountains, waterfalls, clearest mountain rivers and lakes, rocky ledges and impassable Siberian taiga during the flight. But you will enjoy nature on return. We will go on path to Tunkinskaya valley where the auto will wait us.

PROGRAM
1st day:
Meeting. Transfer to the airport.
Flying to Shumak valley by helicopter (start at 8 o'clock, duration of flight is an hour).
Placing the base camp. Lunch. Relaxation.
Excursion to mineral springs. Dinner.
2d day:
Breakfast. Excursion to Mramornyi (marble) waterfall.
Lunch. Relaxation. Bathing in mineral springs.
Dinner.
3d day:
Brekfast. Excursion to conglomerate rocks Huuhein-Hada (pilgrimage of local buddhists).
Lunch. Picnic on the shore of Shumak river.
Coming back to the base camp. Relaxation. Dinner. Bathing in mineral springs.
4th day:
Breakfast.
Walking to Obzornyi peak is for romantic and mountain landscapes lovers. Lunch. Bathing in mineral springs.
Dinner.
5th day:
Breakfast.
Hiking. We go to the pass by alpine terrace along mountain river, by Shumak waterfall (30 m), by glacial lakes Nogon-Nur. Height of the pass is 2760 m. Track goes among stones, rocks and mountain terraces. Climbing is steep but not very difficult even for untrained tourists. Descending is steep too.
Night in tents on timberline.
Preparing lunch on your own under the direction of the guide.
6th day:
Brekfast.
Hiking. Descending by forest path.
Halt and lunch on the shore of the forest lake.
Last night on Shuntin-Hola river.
7th day:
Breakfast.
Auto comes for us. Coming back along picturesque Tunkinskaya valley to Irkutsk city. (230 km). Lunch on the way in a roadside cafe. Hot spring "Zhemchug" on the way. Arriving to Irkutsk

Recommended outfit:
Backpack of 60-90 litre with belt, COMFORTABLE tourist’s boots!!!, light footwear (sandals), cotton and thin woollen socks, sport cotton overcoat, warm sweater or fliss jersey, weatherwear, raincoat!, tricot, shorts, sun glasses and sunblock, head-dress, repellent, first-aid kit, personal hygienic goods, mug, soup-plate, spoone, knife.
. You should to tread out it if footwear is new.
It can be snowing in August and June at rock part of the route.
Participants carry some foods and group’s outfit.
This active tour is for normal health people. .
For experienced group foot part of the route can be increased by going to Arshan resort (+ 2 days). In this case route will be ring. That is return from Shumak is on another way.
