Program:
1st
day:
Meeting.
Road from Irkutsk to beginning of the route (about 300 km).
Lunch on the way. Going to Baikal for about 2 hours. Short stop
for tasting omul and greeting the lake. Going along Tunkinskaya
valley. Admiring snowy peaks of Sayany, buryat’s villages and
cattle grazing in the valley. Stopping near holy buryat places
(this is tradition). Arriving to Belyi (White) Irkut river.
Walking to the camp (about 5 km. Packbacks on sledge). Dinner.
Relaxation.
2d day:
Breakfast. Acclimatization. Making path for climbing,
testing outfit and our forces. Learning to manage ice-axe,
act when breaking up and others. Lunch. You can walk along waterfalls.
Dinner.
3d
day:
Brekfast. Coming up to the mountain lake locating
near peak’s foot. (about 7 km). Lunch. Camping (placing tents or
digging snow cave). Dinner. Spending night.
4th day:
Breakfast. Climbing at Munku-Sardyk peak with light
baggage. Coming down to the lake. Lunch. Coming down to the
base camp. Dinner.
5th day:
Brekfast. Coming back to the road.
Going to Irkutsk. Lunch, taking bath at the “Zhemchug” (Pearl) termal springs
on the way if you have time.

Recommended outfit:
Packback of 60-80 litre, warm sleeping bag (downy desirable),
downy jacket, Polartec or fliss jacket, mittens and wool cap (wind-proof),
climbing-irons, ice-axe, boots for tracking in ice-snowy zone, exchangeable
footwear, snow-proof shoe covers, sun glasses and sunblock, hygienic goods, mug,
soup-plate, spoone, knife, electric torch and reserve batteries.
